Skye’s John Angus Gillies To Referee Celtic Society Final | |
22 June 2019 Skye referee John Angus Gillies will be the man in the middle for the 2019 Scottish Sea Foods Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final. The Grade 1 official takes charge of the meeting between Kyles Athletic and Oban Camanachd at the Taynuilt Sports Field on Saturday 29 June 2019. Gillies will also be presented with the Jack Asher Memorial Medal, in memory of shinty stalwart Jack Asher who was a director of the Glasgow Celtic Society for 50 years and was one of the foremost referee’s for over 40 years, officiating at three Camanachd Cup Finals and three Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Finals. The medal is an inscribed Silver Acme Thunderer Whistle and the first recipient was Deek Cameron in 2016. This year’s final throws up is at 4.05pm and the whole match will be broadcast LIVE on BBC ALBA. |
