Skye’s James Morrison Awarded Sandy MacKay Medal | |
10 June 2017 Skye Camanachd’s James Morrison was awarded the coveted Sandy MacKay Medal after being named man of the match in the 2017 MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final win over Kingussie U17 at the Bught Park on Saturday 10 June 2017. James Morrison turned in a commanding performance as Skye beat Kingussie 3-1 to retain the trophy they won last year. James Morrison becomes the fourth player to collect the Sandy MacKay medal; following Jordan Murchison, Ryan Morrison and John Gillies. The list of previous winners included Michael Rodger who scored for Kilmallie when they lost 3-2 to Newtonmore in the MacTavish Cup Final later in the afternoon. Steven Stewart, now a Kilmallie team mate of Rodger’s, is also a previous winner as is Iain Richardson who came off the bench for Newtonmore in the final.
