23 July 2016 The Skye Camanachd first and second teams both had home fixtures this weekend. The Skye Camanachd first team lost 2-0 to Glenurquhart in their Marine Harvest Premiership meeting at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 23 July 2016. The game started at a fantastic pace and Stuart MacKintosh made a great save from a Jordan Murchison shot before Jamie Gannon did even better to deny both Neale Reid and Connor Golabeck. Glen took the lead on 39 minutes when a Lewis MacLennan shot from the left took a wicked bounce in front of the Skye keeper and the ball sneaked into the net. A fine turn and 22 yard shot from Neale Reid made it 2-0 on 49 minutes and although Skye pressed late in the game, they couldn’t find the goal that would have set up a grandstand finish. A late Connor Gilpin equaliser gave the Skye Camanachd second team a 1-1 draw with the Lovat second team in their Marine Harvest North Division 1 encounter at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 23 July 2016. Skye edged the first half of this noon throw up but Lovat came closest to taking an interval lead when a Bailey MacKay shot came back off the post. A low Cameron MacMillan shot deceived Skye keeper Ryan Morrison on 53 minutes to give the visitors the lead. Skye pushed hard for a leveller but it looked like the visitors would take the points until Connor Gilpin, at the back post, crashed a corner from the right into the net to make it 1-1 with just a minute remaining. The Skye Camanachd Ladies did not have a fixture. The Skye Camanachd Ladies development team did not have a fixture. Skye Camanachd U17 did not have a fixture.
