22 August 2015 There have been four Skye Camanachd games and four Skye Camanachd wins so far this week. The Skye Camanachd first team stay top of the Marine Harvest National Division thanks to a 13-0 win over Ballachulish at Jubilee Park on Saturday 22 August 2015. Kenny Campbell and Jordan Murchison each scored twice within the first 16 minutes to leave Skye 4-0 ahead. A Shockie MacLennan goal on 29 minutes gave Skye a 5-0 half-time lead. Danny Morrison scored three times on 47, 56 and 78 minutes to make it 8-0. Jordan Murchison then took his tally to five goals with Danny Morrison getting his fourth and Skye lead 12-0. There was still time for John Gillies to get a first goal at senior team level with 3 minutes remaining. Second place Kilmallie’s 6-0 win over Beauly means it’s going to be an exciting end to the season. The Skye Camanachd second team extended their lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 win over Strathspey Camanachd in their Marine Harvest North Division 2 encounter at Grantown Grammar School on Saturday 22 August 2015. Goals from Angie MacDonald and James Pringle had Skye 2-0 ahead within the first half hour of this 1.30pm throw up. A goal from each side – Ruairidh MacLeod for Skye and Matthew Davis for Strathspey – meant Skye ran out 3-1 winners. Skye are now six points ahead of second place Glengarry who have a couple of games in hand. The Skye Camanachd Ladies travel South for a Marine Harvest National Division 1 meeting with Aberdour Ladies at Silver Sands on Sunday 23 August 2015. Throw up is at 2pm and Euan Pearson is the match referee. Skye Camanachd U17 did not have a fixture this week. Skye Camanachd U14 were back in action with a 6-1 MacMaster Cup quarter-final win over Kinlochshiel U14 at Kirkton on Monday 16 August 2015. Duncan MacMillan gave ‘Shiel a 12 minute lead. Dan MacDonald levelled on 25 minutes whilst Ruaraidh MacLeod made sure Skye reached a semi-final meeting with Oban Camanachd U14 with five goals on 45, 55, 60, 67 and 69 minutes. Skye Camanachd U14 followed that up with a 9-0 win in their opening Marine Harvest North Division 1 match against Kingussie U14 at the Dell on Friday 21 August 2015.Skye led 8-0 at the break. Mark MacQueen (5, 19), Ruaraidh MacLeod (7, 11, 29) Dan MacDonald (16), Calum Robertson (33) and Abby MacLean (35) got the first half goals, Ruaraidh MacLeod got his fourth on 49 minutes to round off a good night’s work and a 9-0 win. |
