10 September 2016 It was a mixed week for Skye Camanachd on the shinty front. The Skye Camanachd first team went down 4-2 against Kyles Athletic in their Marine Harvest Premiership clash at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 10 September 2016. Will Cowie and Ally “Spod” MacLeod gave Skye a 2-0 interval lead. However second half doubles from Roddy MacDonald and Sandy MacKenzie gave Kyles the win. The Skye Camanachd second team lost 3-2 to their Fort William counter-parts in their Marine Harvest North Division 1 meeting at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 10 September 2016. Arran MacPhee, Grant Disher and Arran MacPhee again had the Fort 3-0 ahead. Late Skye goals from Iain “Spod” MacLeod and Daniel Morrison narrowed the gap but the visitors took the points. The Skye Camanachd Ladies did not have a fixture. Skye Camanachd U17 did not have a fixture although some of their players took part in the Skye & Wester Ross U17 trials in Kyleakin on Tuesday 6 September 2016. The district team then take part in the 2016 Ferguson Transport & Shipping U17 Inter District tournament at Spean Bridge on Sunday 11 September 2016. Skye Camanachd U14 were 11-0 winners in their Marine Harvest North Division 1 meeting with Glenurquhart U14 at Blairbeg on Monday 5 September 2016. Dan MacDonald scored four times, sisters Abby MacLean and Holly Maclean each scored twice whilst Ross Gordon, Ryan Macaskill and Niall MacPhee also netted. The Skye youngsters then played Kingussie U14 in Marine Harvest North Division 1 at the Dell on Friday 9 September 2016. Ross Gordon grabbed a hat-trick whilst Abby MacLean and Mark MacQueen got the others in a 5-0 win. |
