15 March 2014 Three Skye Camanachd teams were in action on Saturday 15 March 2014. The Skye Camanachd first team continued their winning start to the new shinty season when they beat the Glenurquhart second team 3-0 at Blairbeg. Danny Morrison put the Islanders ahead after just 5 minutes with a terrific strike into the top corner of the net. Skye enjoyed most of the possession and Jordan Murchison had a first half penalty saved by Glen keeper David MacFadyen. However it took late goals from Shockie MacLennan and Kenny MacLeod to seal the win. The Skye Camanachd second team opened their Marine Harvest North Division 2 campaign with a 7-0 win over Aberdeen University at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Skye enjoyed the early pressure and the visitors, who travelled with just twelve players, suffered a blow 10 minutes before the break when they lost Greg Tillman with a head cut. Ally “Viewfield” MacLeod and Angie MacDonald netted just before the break to put Skye two up. Both players went on to complete their hat-tricks in the second half with home substitute John Murphy getting the other. The Skye Camanachd Ladies made an overnight trip to Glasgow to play Marine Harvest National Division 1 champions Glasgow Mid Argyll Ladies at Yoker. The Skye Ladies were 3-0 behind at the break with GMA eventually running out 5-0 winners. Joan Nicolson, who is originally from Skye, scored four times whilst KT Drain got the other.
