08 June 2014 It took extra time to separate Skye Camanachd and Fort William in the RBS MacTavish Place Final. Skye Camanachd went down 2-1 after extra time to Marine Harvest National Division side Fort William in the in augural RBS MacTavish Plate Final at Craigard, Invergarry on Saturday 7 June 2014. A swift passing move on 33 minutes cut open the Skye defence and Gordie MacKinnon gave Jamie Gannon no chance with a fine strike. Skye substitute Jordan Murchison levelled with a shot high into the net on 77 minutes. Gordie MacKinnon got what proved to be the winner 5 minutes into extra time but the Fort had their keeper and captain Paul MacKay to thank for a couple of outstanding saves during the 90 minutes. Congratulations to Fort William on their win. The Skye Camanachd second team did not have a game. There was no fixture for the Skye Camanachd Ladies. Skye Camanachd U17 were not in action. Skye Camanachd A U14 had a 15-0 MacMaster Cup win over Lochaber U14 at Spean Bridge on Friday 6 June 2014. Stewart Taylor, John Gillies and Mark MacQueen each scored four times. Ryan Macaskill, Martin Pringle and an own goal made up the tally. The win takes Skye through to the MacMaster Cup semi finals. |
