05 May 2018 Four Skye Camanachd fixtures have been completed so far this week. The Skye Camanachd first team lost 2-0 after extra-time in their Artemis MacAulay Cup first round tie against Kingussie at The Dell on Saturday 5 May 2018. The game was goalless after 90 minutes. Whilst it took a strong Skye defensive display to keep Kingussie out, Ruaraidh MacLeod and Martin Pringle came close to winning it for the Islanders at the death. Skye keeper Iain MacLeod saved a Savio Genini penalty in the first half of extra-time. However extra-time goals from James Hutchison and Roddy Young gave Kingussie a place in the quarter-finals. The Skye Camanachd second team came from two goals down to beat the Bute second team 3-2 in their Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup second round tie at The Meadows on Saturday 5 May 2018. All the goals came in the first half and Bute lead 2-0 through Neil McKirdy and young Stewart Stirling. However an Angie MacDonald hat-trick swung the tie Skye’s way, sending them through to the quarter-finals. The Skye Camanachd Ladies first team were to have a Marine Harvest National Division 1 match against the Glasgow Mid Argyll Ladies first team at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 5 May 2018. However the clubs have agreed to reschedule the match for a later date. The Skye Camanachd Ladies second team do not have a fixture. The Skye Camanachd Ladies Development squad play in the latest round of development matches; hosted by Kinlochshiel at Plockton on Sunday 6 May 2018. The Skye Camanachd U17 squad were 4-0 winners against Glenurquhart U17 in their MacTavish Cup tie at Blairbeg on Tuesday 1 May 2018. Ruaraidh MacLeod, Taylor Matheson and a Ross Gordon double counted for Skye. Skye Camanachd U14 lost 5-0 in their first Marine Harvest North League C match of the season against Kinlochshiel U14 at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Monday 30 April 2018. Archie MacRae grabbed a hat-trick for ‘Shiel whilst Arron Jack and Aaron MacBeth got the others. |
