Skye Camanachd Ladies To Take Part In 2013 Glengarry Sixes | |
25 January 2013 The Skye Camanachd Ladies will head for Fort William to take part in the Glengarry Sixes on Saturday 26 January 2013. The best Ladies teams will compete for the Johnstone Rose Bowl which is the oldest competition in Women's Shinty and its popularity has grown through the years. The Johnstone Rose Bowl was donated to the Glengarry Girls Shinty Club in 1998 (a year after the team was formed) by Mrs Ailsa Johnstone of DA Johnstone & Son Contractors, Invergarry who have been loyal sponsors of the cup. For the first few years the tournament was played outdoors in the summer months but it is now held every January at the Nevis Centre, Fort William Glengarry A are the holders having beaten Badenoch 3-1 in last year’s final The Skye Camanachd Ladies just missed out on a semi-final spot last year as they won three of their five league fixtures. This year’s event also takes place in the Nevis Centre, Fort William and starts at 12 noon. |
