27 March 2018 Skye were 15-0 winners in their Marine Harvest National Division 1 meeting with Strathspey Ladies at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 24 March 2018. Skye Camanachd Ladies Head Coach Robbie Gordon was without the injured Nicola MacSween whilst Shannon MacDonald was also omitted from the squad named for the postponed Aberdour match. Newly promoted Strathspey were understrength for the game, travelling without a couple of regulars. Skye played towards the Skeabost end of the ground in the first half of this noon throw up. In the end, Skye were just too strong, running out 15-0 winners. Caitlin MacLean was Skye’s top scorer with five goals whilst Sarah Corrigall netted four times. A Lorna MacRae double, strikes from Jenna Beaton and Rhianna Kirk and two own goals completed Skye’s tally. Strathspey goalie Lindsay Tinney made a number of fine saves during the game. The final result means Skye have scored 30 goals in their first two league fixtures. The sides also contested the Cuach a Chairdeas in memory of Joy Robson which was presented to Skye captain Lorna MacRae by Jack Robson and Karen MacRae. Next up for Skye is a trip to play Aberdour at Silversands on Sunday 1 April 2018 in a rearranged Marine Harvest National Division 1 fixture.
