Skye Camanachd & Caberfeidh Prepare For Crunch Meeting | |
24 July 2013 There is plenty at stake as Skye Camanachd and Caberfeidh prepare for their crunch Marine Harvest North Division 1 meeting at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 27 July 2013. Skye currently sit in third place in the league, three points ahead of fourth place Caberfeidh as the clubs battle it out for third place. However Cabers have two games in hand and they would lead Skye by a point if they won them both. There is nothing in it in terms of goal difference. The significance of a third place finish is that it is likely to secure a place in shinty’s new national second tier which comes into effect next season. The club finishing in fourth place will play in a league with Strathglass, Inverness and the top five clubs from Marine Harvest North Division 2. Skye have just one remaining game after they play Caberfeidh and that is a trip to Braeview Park to play title challengers Beauly on Saturday 10 August 2013. Caberfeidh have three matches remaining after their trip to Portree. They travel to the Canal Parks to play Kilmallie on Saturday 3 August 2013. They are also on the road a week later as they head for Braeview Park to play Beauly. Caberfeidh’s final fixture is a home match against Strathglass on Saturday 31 August 2013. Throw up at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree this weekend is at the earlier time of 2pm and points will be at a premium for both clubs in the closing weeks of the season. |
