Scotland & Ireland Meet In 2016 Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling / Camogie Internationals ………… TODAY! | |
22 October 2016 There are only hours to go until the 2016 Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling international between Scotland and Ireland at the Bught Park on Saturday 22 October 2016. Scotland Head Coach Ronald Ross has confirmed that Glenurquhart’s John Barr will be his captain for the senior clash. Barr, who was also captain in 2015, will also receive the Donald Campbell Memorial Kilt Pin to mark his captaincy. Scotland U21 Head Coach Allan MacRae has confirmed that Lovat defender Michael MacKenzie will captain his side against their Irish counter-parts. Scotland Ladies Head Coach Stuart Reid has also selected his captain for the match against Dublin and Lochaber’s Kathleen Cameron has been given the honour.
Event Details There will be three Shinty / Hurling / Camogie internationals between Scotland and Irish opposition at the Bught Park on Saturday 22 October 2016. Scotland Ladies v Dublin Ladies The match between Scotland Ladies and Dublin Ladies takes place on the Bught Park outside pitch. Neil Ferguson is the match referee. He will be assisted by umpires Billy MacLeod, John Matheson, Russell Ross and Innes Wood. Throw-in is at 10.30am. Scotland U21 v Ireland U21 The meeting between Scotland U21 and Ireland U21 will be played on the Bught Park main pitch. The match will be refereed by Sean Cleere who will be assisted by umpires Russell Ross, Archie Ritchie, Billy MacLeod and Andy MacLean. Iain Kennedy and Calum Girvan are the linesmen. Throw-in is at 11.50am. Scotland v Ireland The main event sees Scotland and Ireland clash on the Bught Park main pitch. Fort William based referee Innes Wood will take charge of the match. The four umpires are John Angus Gillies, Archie Ritchie, Neil Ferguson and Sean Cleere. The linesmen are Iain Kennedy and Andy MacLean whilst Calum Girvan is the fourth official. The throw-in is at 2pm and, if you can’t make it to the Bught Park to be one of the 2,000-strong crowd; the whole match will be broadcast live on BBC2 Scotland from 1.45pm.
