Scotland Women’s Head Coach Stuart Reid praised Skye Camanachd Ladies duo Lorna MacRae and Jenna Beaton after the Scots beat Dublin (3-4) 13-11 (2-5) in the Marine Harvest Shinty / Camogie international at the Bught Park outside pitch on Saturday 2 November 2013.
Asked how the Skye Camanachd Ladies attacking duo had done in the international, Reid said, “The Skye girls did brilliantly. Lorna was a real menace to the Dublin defence throughout the game. She used her pace to great effect and she of course made an important contribution with a couple of points.”
On Beaton, Reid said, “Jenna was unlucky not to start the game. We rotated Katie Drain and Jenna in the full forward position throughout the match. Jenna showed a good touch, close control and a range of passing.
“Lorna and Jenna combined well and they almost conjured up a goal between them at one stage in the game.”
Reid added, “They were a credit to themselves and the Skye Camanachd Ladies. They were totally committed to the preparation sessions in the lead up to the game and they even turned up on the day after Skye won the North Division 2 title play-off.”
