Portree High School Regain Sorley MacLean Quaich | |
27 April 2016 Portree High School regained the Sorley MacLean Quaich with a 4-0 victory over Plockton High School at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Wednesday 27 April 2016. Portree took the lead on 15 minutes when James Pringle shot home from 15 yards out. A long-range shot from John Gillies on 25 minutes bounced awkwardly past Plockton keeper Morgan Fraser to make it 2-0. When James Pringle found himself in a bit of space to left of goal on 48 minutes, his initial shot was saved by Morgan Fraser but the ball ended up in Plockton net. Portree scored the goal of the game on 58 minutes. Some excellent movement from the Portree forwards took the ball down the line and when the ball fell to Ross Gordon on penalty spot, he struck a fine shot into the net to make it 4-0. Portree's James Pringle was named player of the match. There were some fine battles all around the park, especially between John Gillies and Chris Townend and James Pringle and Stuart Anderson.
