PM Willie Lawrie: The Somme & Shinty’s Heroes | |
17 August 2016 A spectacular commemorative event called PM Willie Lawrie: The Somme & Shinty’s Heroes takes place at the Great Hall, Stirling Castle on Saturday 29 October 2016. The show starts at 7pm and it pays tribute to the many pipers and shinty players who lost their lives in WWI. This includes Pipe Major Willie Lawrie who is best known for composing the tune “The Battle of the Somme”. The event will be presented by Hugh Dan MacLennan, Gary Innes, Duncan MacGillivray, Linda MacLeod and Iain Anderson amongst others. The tickets cost: £17 Adult, £15 concession / child.
