Fish Farm giants Marine Harvest will continue their sponsorship of Cuillin FM’s “Camanachd Live” show throughout the 2015 shinty season.
The sponsorship will allow Cuillin FM to continue their live shinty coverage which won them the Marine Harvest Media award last year.
Cuillin FM’s “Camanachd Live” provided live commentary from 31 shinty matches over 27 Saturdays last season, covering eleven different shinty competitions.
The sponsorship allows Cuillin FM to take their outside broadcast unit to various shinty grounds and they visited seven different venues during 2013:
- Pairc nan Laoch, Portree
- Battery Park, Lochcarron
- Kirkton, Balmacara
- Craigard, Invergarry
- Blairbeg, Drumnadrochit
- An Aird, Fort William
- Playing Fields, Taynuilt
The west coast radio station’s first shinty broadcast was in February 2010 when they covered the Iomain Cholmcille meeting between Alba and Eirinn at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. They have provided live commentary of domestic shinty matches since the start of the 2011 shinty season.
As well as listening locally, shinty fans from across the world can pick up the online stream at www.cuillinfm.co.uk.
The coverage is provided by match commentator Alasdair Bruce and summarisers Drew Millar, Keith MacKenzie and Ross Brown.
