Lochcarron Boss Andrew MacKenzie Reflects On 2011 Season Highlights. | |
15 January 2012 Lochcarron boss Andrew MacKenzie reflected on his team’s highlights from the 2011 shinty season. Speaking to Drew Millar on Cuillin FM’s Saturday Sports Show, MacKenzie said, “There were a few games last season where the boys gelled really well and everything came off as it should. The two that stick in my mind are the Strathglass and Caberfeidh away games. We started off well against Strathglass and got three goals within about 20 minutes and we pushed the whole game before winning 7-0. The Cabers game was another great game where the players really dug deep and played well and we won 3-1.” “One of our biggest downfalls this year was when we led in games but ended up losing and that was down to fitness. The Lochaber game at home was a classic example where we led 3-0 but lost 6-3 and that shouldn’t be happening.” International recognition also came Lochcarron’s way and MacKenzie added, “Mark Sproule was selected for the senior Scotland squad and that was a good achievement.” |
