Latest Government Guidance Overview | |
25 April 2021 Shinty clubs are taking stock of the key Covid-19 changes to affect the game which come into effect on 26 April 2021. The full guidance can be found here A summary of the key changes in the guidance is set out below: Bubble Sizes (Page 3) Table A: Updated to include a new maximum of 30 participants in a training bubble for adults and youths at Level 3. Table A: A match bubble (U18s only) of up to 41 people has been approved to accommodate U18 fixtures from 26 April 2021. The match day bubble for U18s includes 15 players + 2 coaches + 1 first aider + 1 covid coordinator per team x 2 teams = 38 + 3 match officials = 41 people. Spectating (Page 8) No spectating should take place in Level 3 other than where a parent or carer is supervising a child or vulnerable adult or when following specific sector guidance for sporting events. The Camanachd Association is aware that guidance on spectators is planned to evolve when the country moves into Level 2 and encourages all clubs to start planning if and how they might manage spectators to ensure physical distancing is maintained when the country progresses to Level 2 pending confirmation by Scottish Government. Travel Guidance Travel is permitted to all Level 3 areas Clubs must avoid car sharing with people outside the extended household. Participants should not share a vehicle with anyone from another household unless they absolutely have to.
Move To Level 2 – 17 May 2021 The key changes expected in the guidance from 17 May 2021 (Level 2), which are provisional and may be amended, are highlighted in the Protection Levels Strategic Framework are as follows: Contact Shinty – Adults (From 17 May 2021 – Level 2) Contact shinty games are expected to resume for adults aged 18+ (Bubble size for matches are expected to be increased to 41 from 17 May 2021) Spectators (From 17 May 2021 – Level 2) The current government guidance highlights an evolution in spectator attendance from Level 2. This may mean a maximum capacity guideline to spectate at shinty from as early as 17 May 2021 when the government expect to progress to Level 2, allowing up to 250 spectators with physical distancing. This will be confirmed by Scottish Government in updated guidance in advance of 17 May 2021. Provisionally, the guidance is highlighted below and clubs should consider their capacity to manage spectators and build this into their plans and risk assessment.
Updated bubble sizes and daily limits for Levels 0 to 2 have been proposed to Ministers for approval and will be updated in future guidance. Travel / Transport The Camanachd Association, alongside other Scottish Governing Bodies and sportscotland, has submitted questions asking for a timeline on the evolution of restrictions around shared transport and travel. To date, there is no clarity on this and the guidance is not to share transport with any other household. Everyone involved recognises the impact this will have on some participation and the Camanachd Association will provide updates in this area. Clubs should contact their Camanachd Association Regional Development Officer if they have any questions regarding the guidance. |
