Skye Camanachd B U14 beat Kinlochshiel U14 in their Local League match at Kirkton on Friday 2 May 2014.
The home side created the first chance of the game and Murphy Henderson saved well with his hand after just 3 minutes.
A close range shot from Martin Pringle on 5 minutes was well saved by Fin MacPherson in the Shiel goal and Skye’s Finlay Davidson just failed to capitalise on rebound
Skye took the lead after 7 minutes when Martin Pringle found some space and he produced a great finish to make it 1-0.
Home goalie Fin MacPherson saved well again after 10 minutes.
Skye doubled their advantage after 15 minutes thanks to a great solo effort from Martin Pringle for what was the youngster’s second goal of the evening.
Skye keeper Murphy Henderson was called into action once more a minute later when he saved well with his feet and he also made a good stop on 19 minutes.
Kinlochshiel pulled a goal back through Corran Campbell to make it 2-1 on 22 minutes.
Skye’s Martin Pringle shot wide a minute later.
The home side levelled the game on 25 minutes as Nathan Anderson shot home to make it 2-2.
A minute after, Fin MacPherson pulled off a great double save. First he saved with his stick in the air and then he thwarted Calum Robertson with his feet from the rebound.
Skye got their noses back in front on 27 minutes thanks to a great 20 yard drive from Connor Gilpin which made it 3-2.
Fin MacPherson saved again on 32 minutes so Skye took their 3-2 lead into the break.
A Ryan MacAskill shot went wide on 46 minutes.
Great play from Ryan MacAskill created another chance but the youngster’s shot went just over the bar.
Skye made a change on the hour when Mark MacQueen came on for Calum Robertson.
Just 5 minutes later, Skye extended their lead thanks to a good finish from substitute Mark MacQueen.
MacQueen went close again a minute later when he was one-on-one with keeper MacPherson but his shot went just wide.
James Morrison, Jamie Gillies and Ross Gordon were good in defence for Skye whilst Emma Gordon and Connor Gilpin turned in fine performances in the centre line. Forwards Martin Pringle and Ryan MacAskill posed a constant threat to the ‘Shiel defence.
