Kingussie & Newtonmore Get On Their Bikes For Lucky2BHere | |
10 July 2013 Kingussie and Newtonmore shinty clubs are getting together for a charity event to support Lucky2BHere. Players and officials from both clubs will be cycling 160 miles from Glasgow to Badenoch via the West Highland Way, the Great Glen Way and the Corryarrick pass on July 12,13 & 14 2013. Kingussie first team co-manager Russell Jones said, “The 160 mile cycling trip will be bad enough but listening to Brick MacArthur tell us for 3 days and 3 nights how he masterminded Newtonmore’s 2011 Camanachd Cup win over Kingussie will be worse!” The funds raised will be used to support Lucky2BHere’s campaign for public access defibrillators and ELS training in rural communities. 1 Camanachd Cup win will be worse. Please make it NEARLY worthwhile by sponsoring us for Lucky2BHeres campaign for Public Access Defibrillators and ELS training for rural communities at www.justgiving.com/teams/badenochlucky2bhere. It was a very successful day and the course was taken by 24 members from Kingussie and Newtonmore shinty clubs. They were supported by Heartstart Skye team members Helen, John and Andrew. Each club took possession of a defibrillator and, working together, there are plans to provide second defibrillators to be sited in the centre of each village - the rivalry stops when they leave the field Click on the following link for more information on Lucky2BHere http://www.lucky2bhere.org/ |
