Key Duo Share Skye Camanachd U17 Player of the Year | |
13 February 2017 Key youngsters John Gillies and James Pringle shared the 2016 Skye Camanachd U17 player of the year award at an awards / ceilidh night at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse on Saturday 11 February 2017. Both players have broken through the Skye Camanachd ranks together and have established themselves as members of the first team squad despite still being eligible for the Skye Camanachd U17s last season. They helped Skye Camanachd U17 to RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup victory in 2017 and they were also key players in the squad which were London Shield runners up. John Gillies also caught the eye of the international selectors, being named in the Scotland U17 squad which toured Ireland last summer and also being called up for the Scotland U21 squad for the Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling international against Ireland.
