John MacKinnon Memorial Shinty Sixes – League Draws | |
28 December 2013 The league draws have been made for the John MacKinnon Memorial Shinty Sixes which take place at the Portree High School all-weather pitch on Saturday 28 December 2013. The teams have been split into two leagues and they will play a round-robin set of fixtures. The winners and runners up from each section will progress to the semi-final stage. Teams are requested to report to the Skye Camanachd clubhouse at 9.30am for registration and to use the changing rooms. A shuttle bus will then take them to the Portree High School all-weather pitch. Players should not leave any valuables in the respective changing rooms. The nominated ladies player in each team must play the full game and the nominated over 45 player must play for at least half of each match. The nominated U17 players are asked to wear white helmets which will be provided. Teams must provide their own strips but bibs will be provided. Goals can only be scored in the opposition half. Each team will be asked to nominate for the various players of the tournament:
Each manager should give their nominations to Davie MacVicar at the end of the competition. Each team will be asked to provide a player to assist with the refereeing. Soup and sandwiches will be provided in the clubhouse at 3.30 pm.

Event Details The John MacKinnon Memorial Sixes is an invitational tournament and each squad will have a maximum of eight players and must include an over 45 player, an U17 player and a ladies player in their squad. There will be a trophy for the winners, medals for the winners and runners up, as well as awards for the Player of the Tournament, Ladies Player of the Tournament, Over 45 Player of the Tournament and U17 Player of the Tournament.
