James Pringle Is 2016 Caman DR Recipient | |
13 February 2017 Skye Camanachd youngster James Pringle became the latest winner of the coveted Caman DR at an awards / ceilidh night at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse on Saturday 11 February 2017. James Pringle has had an outstanding season with Skye Camanachd U17 side, helping them to win the RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup. They were also runners up in the London Shield, losing narrowly to Oban Camanachd U17 in the final. After establishing himself in the Skye Camanachd second team, Pringle has now forced himself in to the Skye first team and he will be in the senior squad for this coming seasons Marine Harvest National Division campaign. Pringle has also made his mark on the university shinty circuit and he was part of the Scottish Universities squad which recently played in Ireland.
The inscription on Caman DR reads; Air a thoirt seachad gach bliadhna don iomanaiche òg a b’ fheàrr a lean ris an fheallsanachd a bhrosnaich DR MacDhòmhnaill thar iomadach bliadhna am measg òigridh an Eilein. Sgil, spèis, dealas agus moit. To be presented each year to the young shinty player who has followed the philosophy encouraged by DR MacDonald through many years amongst the youth of the Island.
