Shinty / Hurling ace Patrick “Bonner” Maher was named in the 2014 Opel GAA GPA Hurling All-Star team at the Convention Centre, Dublin on Friday 24 October 2014.
Maher was the only player from Michael Walshe’s Ireland Shinty / Hurling squad to secure a place in the prestigious side and it is his first All-Star award after nominations in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Tipperary and Kilkenny dominated the awards with the inclusion of seven Tipp players and six from the Cats. The only other County representation was from Limerick who had two inclusions.

Kilkenny’s Richie Hogan was the popular choice of GAA / GPA Hurler of the Year whilst Tipperary's Cathal Barrett was named GAA / GPA Young Hurler of the Year.
