Gus Campbell Steps Down As Oban Camanachd Boss | |
21 July 2015 Gus Campbell has stepped down as manager of Marine Harvest Premiership side Oban Camanachd. Campbell is believed to have left his position for personal and health reasons and he will be a tough act to follow after leading the side to shinty’s top division at the end of last season. The team may be bottom of the Marine Harvest Premiership at present but they do have games in hand on the teams above them. Gus Campbell also recently led Oban Camanachd to the Gregor Cameron Consultancy Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final – a competition he won six times as a player - where they lost out to Kyles Athletic. Oban Camanachd stalwart Iain Hay will take over the running of the first team for the moment. Oban Camanachd have an Artemis Macaulay Cup semi-final tie with Inveraray at Mossfield this coming weekend. |
