Glenurquhart Begin Search For New Manager | |
15 November 2013 Glenurquhart have begun the search for a new first team manager after Drew McNeil intimated that he did not wish to be considered for the position for the 2014 shinty season. McNeil informed the club of his decision ahead of their AGM which took place on Wednesday 13 November 2013. McNeil and his co-manager Fraser MacKenzie, who stood down in August 2013, brought Glenurquhart their first major senior success when they won the Artemis Macaulay Cup in their first season in charge in 2012. They pair also took the team to the 2013 Co-operative MacTavish Cup Final where they eventually lost out on penalties to Lovat. Glenurquhart Chairman Russell Fraser will now lead the search for a replacement with a special meeting organised for the end of the month. Whilst McNeil has ended his two year stint with Glenurquhart, he is keen to continue in his role as Scotland Head Coach. McNeil’s second two year term in charge has just ended and the man who also assisted previous managers Ally Ferguson for one year and Fraser MacKenzie during his two year tenure, will throw his hat back in the ring when the job is advertised by the Camanachd Association. |
