16 February 2013 Skye Camanachd first team manager Willie MacRae has named a 15 man squad for the George Michie Memorial Cup meeting with Newtonmore at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 16 February 2013. MacRae is without several regulars including Stewart Grant, Michael Nicolson, David Grant, Gilleasbuig MacDonald and Iain Murray from the squad which lost to Fort William last weekend. Other absentees include Chris Rose, Iain Nicolson, Jamie Gannon and Shaun Hedley. However Steven Morrison has recovered from an injury picked up early in the Fort William game and he is included. There will be three brothers in the Skye squad with reserve player Chris MacLennan joining last year’s captain Shockie MacLennan and their older brother Ally MacLennan who plays for the first time in several years. Newtonmore manager Paul John MacKintosh will send a strong squad to Skye in what will be his first match in charge since taking over from Norman MacArthur. Scotland U21 international captain Rory Kennedy will feature in defence with talisman Danny MacRae, who scored twice when ‘More were 4-0 winners when the sides met for this trophy last season, sure to lead the attack.
