Garry Reid has been confirmed as Scotland U21 Head Coach for for the 2014 and 2015 shinty seasons.
Reid has over 20 years playing and coaching experience at clubs including Strathglass, Glenorchy, Bute and Lovat.
He also led the Scotland U17 squad on their annual trip to Dublin during his time as Camanachd Association Youth Development Manager. He has been involved in the development of coach education courses for shinty and is currently a UKCC Level 2 standard coach.
Reid was part of the 1997 Scotland U21 coaching team under Duncan Kelly and George Stewart.
Lovat first team manager Allan MacRae and former Scotland U21 player and Scotland U17 representative coach Allan MacKechnie from Glenorchy have been appointed as Reid’s Assistant Head Coaches.
This year’s Marine Harvest Senior Shinty / Hurling International first test between Scotland and Ireland takes place at the Bught Park on Saturday 18 October 2014. The Scots travel to Ireland the following weekend for the second test along with the U21 and Women’s representative squads who will have a one-off meeting.
