Oban Camanachd have been dealt an injury blow on the eve of the new shinty season with the news that defender Garry Lord has been ruled out of action with a broken leg.
Lord suffered the injury in last weekend’s Murdo MacKenzie Memorial Cup win over Strathglass when a challenge left him in need of a hospital visit.
It was later confirmed that he had suffered a break just above the ankle.
With fellow defenders James MacMillan abroad and Ross MacMillan opting to join Oban Celtic, manger Iain Hay has been left short of defensive options so he may have to reshuffle his pack ahead of the season opener away to Kinlochshiel.
