Former Dunvegan Primary School Shinty Player’s Daring Cycle Challenge | |
03 October 2014 Former Dunvegan Primary School shinty player Danny MacAskill is no stranger to a daring cycle but his latest video has caught the imagination all over the world. The cycle takes place on the famous Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye and MacAskill, who wielded a caman for Dunvegan Primary School in his younger days, displays his superb talents against the backdrop of some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. Danny MacAskill said, “This is probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever done,” and BBC1 will show a programme called “Riding the Ridge” on the making of the video on BBC1 Scotland at 7.30pm on Friday 10 October 2014. 'Riding the Ridge' is a documentary which follows the Red Bull sponsored Scot as he attempts to create an incredible new viral film on and around one of the most dramatic mountain ranges in Scotland, the Black Cuillin in Skye. Danny MacAskill and his film crew spent ten days on the shoot, enduring long treks and tricky terrain, all in a bid to capture the Islander performing in this most thrilling and challenging environment.
