Camanachd Leòdhais Retain 2015 Hebridean Celtic Festival Cup | |
23 July 2015 Camanachd Leòdhais retained the Hebridean Celtic Festival Cup with 2-0 win over Uist Camanachd at Bayhead on Saturday 18 July 2015. First half goals from Duncan MacIntyre and Connor Chalmers gave Lewis the bragging rights for a third successive season. However Uist had their chances with Keith MacDonald missing from the penalty spot on two occasions during that action packed first period. 2015 marked twenty years since the revival of shinty by the late Dr Alasdair Barden at New Year on the Tong pitch. It was therefore fitting that the trophy was presented by his sons Domhnall and Tearlach Barden. Referee Dougie Rankin selected Uist Camanachd’s Keith MacDonald as the recipient of the man of the match award.
