09 June 2016 Skye Camanachd U17 came out on top in their London Shield meeting with Caberfeidh U17, winning 10-0 at Castle Leod on Tuesday 7 June 2016. Skye Camanachd U17 Youth Coach Davie Pringle had to make late changes to his squad for this 7pm throw up. Keeper Jack Henderson had to work so he was replaced in goal by his brother Murphy Henderson. Ryan Macaskill picked up a hand injury in Skye Camanachd’s U14 win over their Newtonmore counter-parts at the end of the week so he was replaced by Dan MacDonald. Angus MacDonald injured his back when ploughing a field in his tractor the night before the game so he also missed out. Caberfeidh were only able to field ten players so Skye agreed to play 10-a-side which left Skye with five substitutes but everyone got a game. Caberfeidh were able to include a couple of players with first team experience and one who has featured for their seconds and they put in a spirited performance throughout. In the end, Skye were two strong and they scored a number of good goals during the game. Ruaraidh MacLeod grabbed a hat-trick, Ross Gordon and Stewart Taylor scored two each whilst James Pringle, John Gillies and Dan MacDonald got the others. Next up for Skye is the RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final against Fort William at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 11 June 2016. Throw up is at 1pm.
