Bute v Skye Camanachd – Team News | |
30 May 2014 Skye Camanachd travel south on Friday evening for the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup second round tie against Marine Harvest National Division side Bute at the Meadows on Saturday 31 May 2014. The sides last met in the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup first round in 2011 when a Robert Walker hat-trick helped Bute run out 6-1 winners on Rothesay. Skye are bidding to reach the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup quarter finals once again, having lost out to eventual winners Kyles Athletic at the 2012 quarter final stage. Neil MacVicar misses out again for Skye because of a back injury. Injury also rules out Jordan Murchison whilst Kenny MacLeod is unavailable. Iain MacLellan is called into the squad and keeper Jamie Gannon returns in goal in place of Aonghas MacDonald. Manager John MacLeod is also named. Bute have been working hard to remove surface water from their pitch after a blocked drain caused a problem. There will be an 8am Saturday morning pitch inspection and Glasgow Mid Argyll’s Yoker pitch has been placed on stand-by should the Meadows be unplayable. Bute will field a strong side for this Scottish Cup tie with a place in the last eight at stake. Throw up is at 2.30pm.
