Scotland U21 Head Coach Alan MacRae has named his squad for the Shinty / Hurling international against Ireland U21 at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 22 October 2016.
Sixteen year old Skye Camanachd defender John Gillies in amongst the new caps as is Oban Camanachd youngster Daniel MacVicar.
Scotland U21 Head Coach Alan MacRae said, “It’s an honour for me to be the Head Coach of the Scotland U21 team in the same way as it is an honour for the boys selected to represent their country. The players have all come through a thorough selection process, which has presented us with a strong, skilful squad who will hopefully entertain and look to restore some Scottish pride after last year’s disappointing result. We are under no illusion that it will be a tough competitive match and both the coaching team and the players are looking forward to the challenge.”
MacRae will be assisted by Bute’s Ian McDonald and former Inverness manager Callum McLeod. Davie McVey is the trainer whilst Lorna Forsyth is the team physio.
