Inveraray and Kyles Athletic go into this weekend’s AJG Parcels Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final knowing they could meet at least five times this season.
The sides have already met twice this season. Inveraray ran out 3-1 winners in their Orion Group Premiership match at the Winterton. However Kyles edged the sides’ Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup encounter 1-0 thanks to a Roberto Zavaroni strike. They are also due to meet in the Artemis Macaulay Cup semi finals and well as having one more league meeting.
Inveraray beat Kyles 1-0 on the way to winning the trophy last season with Euan McMurdo getting the all-important goal on the hour mark. Inveraray beat Taynuilt 14-0 in the final.
However Kyles gained revenge when they beat Inveraray 6-5 in a classic Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final at Mossfield, Oban.
2012 Marine Harvest Player of the Year Roddy MacDonald of Kyles Athletic is this year’s competition’s top scorer so far with seven goals.
