A Win Each For Portree & Plockton In Sorley MacLean Challenge | |
18 April 2013 Portree High School and Plockton High School had a win each in the Sorley MacLean Challenge in Plockton on Thursday 18 April 2013. Plockton High School came out on top in the Ladies match, winning 3-2 to avenge last year’s defeat. Catriona Kirk, Holly McCue and Eilidh Coghill all counted for Plockton with Fiona Lamond and Caitlin MacLean getting the Portree goals. Helen Lamond was named Portree player of the match with Catriona Kirk winning the Plockton award. Plockton captain Izzy Dalgety was presented with the Cuach Sgathaich. However the Portree High School boys took the Sorley MacLean Quaich with a 2-0 victory. Portree’s Angie Grant set up the opener when he took advantage of a slip by the Plockton full back before drawing the keeper and slipping the ball to Ally MacCrimmon who netted the opener. Angie Grant then scored the clinching second goal to retain the Sorley MacLean Quaich. Steven MacKinnon was named Portree’s top player with captain Oliver MacRae credited as Plockton’s best player. Portree captain Will Cowie was presented with the Cuach Shomhairle by Plockton Head Teacher Duncan Ferguson. |
