Kyles Athletic and Kinlochshiel are making their final preparations ahead of the Artemis MacAulay Cup Final which takes place at Mossfield on Saturday 18 August 2018.
Both teams have had recent success in this competition which brings together the North and South area finalists.
Holders Kyles Athletic defeated Newtonmore 7-4 in last year’s final with Roddy MacDonald scoring four times. There was another high-scoring final a year earlier when Kinlochshiel defeated Inveraray 5-3 with Keith MacRae scoring twice.
However match-winners Roddy MacDonald and Keith MacRae are struggling to make this year’s final. MacDonald hasn’t played since injuring a shoulder against Lovat on Saturday 23 June 2018 whilst MacRae suffered a knee problem against Skye the same day.
Kyles hope Roddy MacDonald will have recovered sufficiently to take up a place on the bench but whilst Keith MacRae could also be listed amongst Kinlochshiel’s five substitutes, he is unlike to play.
Andrew King will return for Kyles whilst ‘Shiel’s Oliver MacRae is also back with both players having missed their sides’ respective league wins last weekend. Duncan "DA" MacRae also returns to the Kinlochshiel squad whilst Kyles Athletic hope Donald Irvine will be back.
Graham Mitchell from sponsors Artemis will once again present the famous trophy to the winning captain.
Graham Cameron is the match referee and throw up is at 2pm.
If you are unable to make it to Mossfield, the final will be broadcast LIVE on BBC2 Scotland.
