The 2016 Joe Toal Sixes, which were due to take place at Spean Bridge on Sunday 18 September 2016, have been postponed.
In 1982 Joe Toal was playing for Lochaber Camanachd against Fort William when he suddenly died at the age of just 25. Each year, Lochaber would hold a sixes tournament in honour of his memory and dedication to the club.
The tournament was originally set for July this year before being rescheduled for September. However, with a busy league and cup schedule, clubs have found it difficult to commit, so the tournament has been cancelled indefinitely for now.
Lochaber were 2015 winners with Joe’s relation Pat Toal captaining their side.
