2016 Camanachd Cup Second Round Draw | |
06 May 2016 The 2016 Camanachd Cup second round draw will take place at the Palace Hotel, Inverness on Monday 9 May 2016. The ten teams from shinty’s Marine Harvest Premiership enter the competition at this stage and they will be joined in the draw by the six qualifiers from the preliminary and first round ties. The draw will be made by Ross County Chairman Roy MacGregor and his Inverness Caledonian Thistle counter-part Kenny Cameron who is of course a former shinty player. Camanachd Association President Jim Barr will also be in attendance as will Lovat first team manager and President John MacRitchie. The draw is set to be an historic event as Roy MacGregor will bring along the Utilita League Cup whilst Kenny Cameron will take the William Hill Scottish Cup meaning this will be the first time Scottish football’s two cup trophies will be displayed alongside shinty’s Camanachd Cup. The draw will take place at 10.30am. Caberfeidh are already through to the Camanachd Cup second round after Glenorchy were unable to raise a team for their first round tie this coming weekend. The following Camanachd Cup first round ties will take place on Saturday 7 May 2016: Beauly v Bute Inveraray v Ballachulish Oban Celtic v Strathglass
The following first round ties will be played later this month: Taynuilt v Glasgow Mid Argyll Kilmallie v Aberdour
