The squad selection process ahead of the 2015 Shinty / Hurling internationals between Scotland and Ireland is underway.
Scotland Senior Shinty Hurling International
The Scotland senior squad will once again be managed by Ronald Ross who, along with his management team, have already been watching players throughout the country. An initial pool of players will be selected for a senior international trial match which takes place on Saturday 5 September 2015.
The pool will then be whittled down to a final squad to play Ireland in the Marine Harvest International Shinty / Hurling series. The first test takes place at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 24 October 2015 with the second test at Croke Park, Dublin on Saturday 21 November 2015.
Scotland U21 Shinty Hurling International
The selection process is different for the Scotland U21 squad, managed again by Garry Reid. Clubs have been asked to nominate up to four players for consideration by Friday 24 July 2015. Players must be aged U21 on 1 January 2015.
These players must be able to commit to attend regional trial matches as follows:
North of Scotland Trial Dates
Wednesday 5 August 2015 – Inverness at 6.30pm
Wednesday 12 August 2015 – Inverness at 6.30pm
South of Scotland Trial Dates
Monday 3 August 2015 – Inveraray at 6.30pm
Monday 10 August 2015 – Inveraray at 6.30pm
Following the regional trial matches, squads will be selected for the North U21 v South U21 match for the Caol Cup on Saturday 5 September 2015. .
The final Scotland U21 squad will be selected following the Caol Cup match. .
The Marine Harvest International Shinty / Hurling match between Scotland U21 and Ireland U21 will take place at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 24 October 2015.
