The draw was made for the 2014 MacTavish Cup at the Camanachd Association Offices on Tuesday 28 January 2014.
The draw was made by two of the stars from BBC Alba’s SWAGs (Shinty Wives & Girlfriends) programme, Suzy Campbell from Newtonmore and Alice MacRae from Kinlochshiel, along with Inverness Provost, Alex Graham. BBC Alba aired the SWAGs programme over the festive period and it received rave reviews as it followed the fortunes of several of the games unsung heroines.
The meeting between Fort William and Kingussie is the only all-Orion Group Premiership tie and the winners will be away to Kinlochshiel in the quarter finals.
Skye Camanachd and Strathglass, who are in shinty’s third tier, face top division sides Glenurquhart and Newtonmore respectively.
Marine Harvest North Division 2 side Boleskine probably have the most difficult task of all. They play in shinty’s fourth tier but they must travel to Balgate to play holders Lovat despite the fact that they play in a division below the Lovat reserve team.
