09 July 2014 Skye Camanachd faced all-North opposition on their road to the 2014 Balliemore Cup Final which takes place at the Taynuilt Sports Field on Saturday 12 July 2014.
Saturday 5 April 2014 Balliemore Cup – First Round Skye Camanachd W/O v Strachur Skye Camanachd were given a walk over into the Balliemore Cup quarter-finals when Marine Harvest South Division 1 side Strachur were unable to raise a team for their trip to Pairc nan Laoch, Portree.
Saturday 10 May 2014 Balliemore Cup - Quarter Finals Strathglass 0 Skye Camanachd 1 Skye Camanachd are through to the Balliemore Cup semi finals after they edged out Strathglass 1-0 at Cannich. Full back Steven Morrison returned for Skye after missing the previous weekend’s Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup win over Glenorchy. However Kenny Campbell was missing. Skye had most of the first half pressure but they were unable to test home keeper Steve MacLachlan. Jordan Murchison thought he had given Skye a second half lead but goal judge Eoghan Stewart ruled out his effort with offside given against Allan MacKinnon. The winning goal came on 70 minutes when Will Cowie burst down the wing. Cowie appeared to be fouled but referee Archie Ritchie played advantage. Cowie played in Shockie MacLennan who controlled the ball and turned quickly to beat his marker before smashing a back-hand shot into the net to make it 1-0.
Saturday 14 June 2014 Balliemore Cup – Semi Final Inverness 1 Skye Camanachd 3 The Skye Camanachd first team reached the Balliemore Cup Final for the first time since 2008 with a 3-1 win over Inverness at Battery Park. Inverness were without Martin Davidson but Adam MacMaster was passed fit to play. Skye had a full squad although both Chris Rose and Will Cowie were suffering the effects of flu. Neil MacVicar started with Ally “Spod” MacLeod dropping onto the bench. The Islanders went in front on 8 minutes when Kenny Campbell did well to get away from his marker on the right before crossing to Shockie MacLennan who flicked the ball into the air before volleying it into the net. Kenny Campbell turned scorer on 33 minutes as he flicked home a cross from the left. Inverness goalie Stuart MacRae kept his side in the game with a couple of terrific first half saves. Inverness made a strong start to the second half and former Skye player Dougie Rankin sent a drive from the left high into the Skye net to make it 2-1. This meant for a nervy period in the match before, with a just a couple of minutes remaining, Skye substitute David Grant got the deftest of touches onto a free-hit and fellow substitute Kenny MacLeod crashed the ball past Stuart MacRae to make it 3-1. Skye now await the outcome of next weekend’s semi final meeting between Aberdour and Ballachulish. The 2014 Balliemore Final will take place at The Taynuilt Sports Field on Saturday 12 July 2014.
