Saturday 5 April 2014 Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup – First Round Tayforth 1 Kyles Athletic 5 Kyles Athletic are through to the next round after a 5-1 win over Tayforth at Levenhall Links, Musselburgh. Tayforth scored on 40 minutes to lead 1-0 at half time. Kyles’ Innes MacDonald, who normally plays in goal, set up Ally MacKay for the equaliser. Roddy MacColl came on as a second half substitute for the visitors and he put Kyles in front. Innes MacDonald made it 3-1 before Roddy MacColl went on to complete his hat-trick with two more goals to make it 5-1.
Saturday 10 May 2014 Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup – Second Round Strathspey Camanachd 0 Kyles Athletic 14 The Kyles Athletic second team were too strong for Strathspey Camanachd in their 2pm throw up at Grantown Grammar School. Edgars Peca was free of suspension for Strathspey. The home side made a bright start but when Kyles settled, there was only going to be one winner. Matthew MacColl and Gordon Whyte each scored four times and David Martin grabbed a hat-trick. Innes MacDonald, Connor Giudici and Roddy MacColl got the others.
Saturday 7 June 2014 Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup - Quarter Final Kyles Athletic 1 Lochside Rovers 1 (Kyles Athletic won 4-2 on penalties) Kyles Athletic continued their good start to the season when they beat Lochside Rovers in a penalty shoot-out in their noon throw up at Tighnabruaich. After two hours of shinty, goals from Roddy MacColl of Kyles Athletic and Lochside Rovers’ Daniel MacMillan saw the sides tied at a goal apiece. Referee Duncan Freshwater took the tie to a penalty shoot-out and Kyles ran out 4-2 winners.
Saturday 2 August 2014 Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup - Semi Final Lovat 2 Kyles Athletic 3 Kyles Athletic reached their second cup final of the season when they edged out Lovat 3-2 at the Jubilee Park. Martin Bell and Martin Mainland were missing for Lovat. Lovat drew first blood when Thomas Fraser scored after 19 minutes. Roddy MacColl levelled after 42 minutes but Danny Kelly restored Lovat’s lead a minute before the break. Lovat felt aggrieved when a first half Rory Campbell goal was ruled out for offside but it was Kyles who sealed their final appearance with Mathew MacColl scoring on 50 minutes and Roddy MacColl getting his second on 65 minutes. Lovat had another goal disallowed and Rory Campbell missed from the penalty spot. David Stafford was the match referee.
