2013 Co-operative MacTavish Cup Final …………. 1 Day To Go! | |
13 June 2013 The 2013 Co-operative MacTavish Cup Final between Glenurquhart and Lovat takes place at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 15 June 2013. Glenurquhart co-managers Fraser MacKenzie and Drew Mcneil have struggled to get a consistent selection this season with injuries and work commitments hampering their plans. Forward Ruairidh Cameron is any injury doubt. However he scored for the Glen reserves against Newtonmore a fortnight ago and he will be given every chance to prove his fitness. However Paul MacKintosh and Andrew MacDonald are definitely ruled out through injury. Scotland defender Andrew Corrigan is working off-shore and there is only an outside chance that he will be back in time for the final. His absence would be a blow to the Glen’s chances. Lovat boss Allan MacRae will be without the services of forward Lorne MacKay who is suspended for the final after picking up three bookings. However Scotland international Kevin Bartlett returns and he is the tournament’s top scorer with six goals, although five of these came in the opening round 11-0 win over Inverness. Fellow striker Greg Matheson is on five goals from Lovat’s three cup ties so far and both players will be out to cause problems for the Glen defence. Lovat’s back line of keeper Stuart MacDonald and defenders Drew Howie, Michael MacKenzie, Daniel Grieve and Callum Cruden have only lost six goals in nine league games this season. Overall they have lost just twelve goals in twelve matches making them, one of the meanest defences around. However wing back Michael MacKenzie could miss the final unless he is able to rearrange previously made holiday plans.
