The Scotland Senior and U21 players took part in a warm up Shinty / Hurling match against Napier University in Edinburgh on Sunday 16 October 2011.
The Scotland side ran out 10-9 winners in a tight match against Napier University who are British hurling champions. The hurlers were permitted to handle the ball which helped make it a close game.
Glenurquhart's Neale Reid caught the eye finding the back of the net twice and putting another effort over the bar to grab seven of the Scots' ten points.
The first test between the Scotland and Ireland senior sides takes place in Athy, Co, Kildare on Saturday 22 October 2011. The second test takes place at the Bught Park, Inverness a week later in a packed day which also features an U21 meeting between the countries and the Women's Shinty / Camogie challenge match between Scotland and the British University side.
