MacVicar Pleased With Cup Progress. | |
12 April 2011 Skye Camanachd first team manager Davie MacVicar was pleased to see his side progress into the second round of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup following their 5-3 extra-time triumph over Lochaber at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 9 April 2011. MacVicar was full of praise for his team after they achieved what many would have considered an unexpected win. “It was a very good team performance,” said the Skye boss after the game. “However I though Scott MacLeod and Iain Grant were superb in defence and Stewart Grant really took control of the centre line. And what can you say about Jordan Murchison? His finishing was first class and you can see how he has benefited from some time with the first team. Jamie Gannon is also due a mention as he has really helped to steady us at the back. It’s a great improvement when you consider that we lost 3-0 to Fort William here only 3 weeks ago.” “We were against a very good Fort William side and we will now look forward to a trip to Kirkton in the next round against neighbours Kinlochshiel.” More immediate for Skye though is a trip to Invergarry to play Marine Harvest North Division 2 league leaders Fort William on Saturday 16 April 2011. Throw up is at 2.30pm. |
