Glengarry Decide Against Marine North Division 1 Promotion Offer. | |
23 October 2010 Glengarry have decided not to take up the offer of promotion to Marine Harvest North Division 1. Glengarry finished the 2010 season in second place to Glenurquhart in Marine Harvest North Division 2. League winners Glenurquhart decided against promotion which left the Invergarry side eligible for a play-off against Marine Harvest North Division 1 bottom side Strathglass for a place in the higher league. The Camanachd Association then agreed that a play-off was not necessary as Kilmallie had been promoted to the Scottish Hydro Premier Division and no relegation from the top league meant Marine Harvest North Division 1 would reduce in size. However Glengarry’s view is that they would have preferred to have tested themselves against Strathglass to earn promotion so they feel the step up under the current circumstances is not appropriate. Therefore Marine Harvest North Division 1 will be an 8 team league in 2011. |
