02 July 2010
The Marine Harvest Premier Sixes - Clash of the Camans takes place at An Aird on Saturday 3 July 2010.
This is a Premier Sixes between the Premier Division’s top sides.
The clubs are spit into 2 leagues of 10 with one set of fixtures taking place at An Aird and the other taking place at the BA Club.
It is likely that most teams will rest players, especially those clubs participating in the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup the following weekend. Kingussie have already made it clear that their main first team players will not take part whilst several Fort William first team players are taking part in a golfing weekend. However it may be the case that the younger, more nimble players from these sides are better suited to the Sixes game.
The league one ties at An Aird throw up a Badenoch derby between Kingussie and Newtonmore. There will be another local derby between Lovat and Glenurquhart whilst Oban Camanachd represents the south.
The league 2 ties predominately feature south sides and last week’s Glasgow Celtic Society Cup finalists Inveraray and Kyles Athletic will clash. Glasgow Mid Argyll and Bute will also renew rivalries whilst Fort William are the only North team in the group.
