Balliemore Cup
Skye Camanachd and Kilmallie are both through to the semi finals of the Balliemore Cup. Skye Camanachd beat Taynuilt 9-1 with hat-tricks from both Kenny Campbell and debutant Iain Morrison. Kilmallie beat Glenorchy 3-1 but they had Peter Carmichael sent off.
Scottish Hydro Premier Division
Kingussie came out on top in the Badenoch derby. Ronald Ross – who else – scored a brace either side of a David Cheyne strike. Fort William rattled in 14 goals against Glasgow Mid Argyll at Yoker with Gary Innes netting an incredible 9 goals. He actually had a tenth effort ruled out by referee Billy Wotherspoon. Roberto Zavaroni followed up last week’s hat-trick with a 76 minute goal to give Bute a share of the points in a 2-2 raw with Inveraray at the Meadows. A second half Colin MacColl goal gave Kyles Athletic a 2-1 win over Glenurquhart at Blairbeg. Second half goals from Owen Ferguson and James MacPherson gave Lovat a 2-0 home win over Oban Camanachd.
Marine Harvest North Division 1
A Keith MacRae strike 2 minutes from time gave Kinlochshiel a 4-3 win over Lochaber in a thrilling contest at Kirkton.
Marine Harvest South Division 1
Oban Camanachd had a convincing 4-1 win over Ballachulish at Jubilee Park with David Duffy and Allan Duffy on target.
Marine Harvest North Division 2
A Kevin Thain hat-trick helped Kingussie to a 5-1 win over league leaders Glenurquhart at the Dell. Skye Camanachd’s first win of the season was due in no small part to Danny Morrison’s hat-trick in their 5-2 win over Newtonmore at the Eilan. A Daniel Stewart goal 8 minutes from time gave Fort William a 3-2 win over Lovat at An Aird. Steven Cameron scored the only goal of the day as Glengarry beat Kilmallie at Canal Parks.
Marine Harvest South Division 2
Donald Colville scored 4 goals as Glasgow Mid Argyll beat Aberdour 6-2. A Roddy MacColl goal put league leaders Kyles Athletic on the way to a 3-0 win over second place Col Glen. The match between Bute and Tayforth was postponed.
Marine Harvest North Division 3
League leaders Lochaber had a 5-1 win Over Strathglass at Cannich. Alan Knox continued his good scoring run by bagging 4 goals. Aberdeen University maintained their title challenge with a 6-0 win over Inverness at the Bught. Former Skye Camanachd player Kenny MacLeod scored their opener. |
