Secret Ballot To Be Held For Camanachd Association Communications Director Role. | |
12 April 2010 The Camanachd Association has announced that the Director of Communications position will be determined at the Annual General Meeting by a secret ballot.
The 2 year Director of Communications position is being contested between Dave Fallows and the current incumbent Donald Stewart. The original intention was that voting members would cast their vote by e-mail, post of fax, to the Association ahead of the AGM which is being held in Fort William on Friday 30 April 2010.
However in an e-mail issued to member clubs on 9 April 2010, the Association said, “A query has been raised in relation to the nomination and election process of directors at the AGM. Legal advice has been taken in relation to this and in particular on the current provisions of the Articles of Association of The Camanachd Association. As a result of this advice it has been determined that rather than being determined by postal ballot prior to the AGM, the contested post of Communications Director will be determined at the AGM by a vote of the members by secret ballot. Those directors nominated for uncontested positions will go forward for approval in those posts at the AGM.”
The whole process surrounding future nominations is one of the areas of proposed amendment to the Articles of Association of The Camanachd Association being put forward for approval at this AGM. The Camanachd Association hopes this will improve and simplify matters in the future. |
